Brain Tan, the project from New York-based Rob Arbel, explains that the video for new single “Comfort Object” is “mostly footage of a Barney impersonator who terrorized my little sister’s 2nd birthday party.” Dubbed the “worst birthday party of 1992”, it’s a nostalgic and relatively creepy video for the atmospheric, pulsing track, which rides on an excellently incorporated coo-ing vocal sample throughout the hook, laden with the chillwave synth developments and nocturnal fixings. It’s a fine release from Brain Tan, who already impressed around this time last year with “New Light“.
