Jeff Ray – “Somebody’s Cryin'”

May marked Mental Health Awareness in the US, a great time to show the constant need for awareness and research in the field. Music also plays a role in raising its profile, with releases such as Jeff Ray’s new album Our Little Town doing its part. Lead single/video “Somebody’s Cryin'” was recorded and shot as a tribute to Jeff’s friend James, who committed suicide. Ray, an advocate for mental health awareness, sings passionately here about the feeling of sadness many experience — simply hoping to make it through the night. Over a rollicking rock sound, with a hint of country twang in the soaring vocals, Ray’s lyrics resonate emotionally in regard to recognizing sadness and hoping to inject some happiness where it is.
