Formed in 2007, Space Motel has drawn a respectable following for their gripping and atmospheric blend of funk, soul, and rock. The collective – initially comprised of Jim Muro, Willie Myette, Zach Paquette and Nate Davignon and expanded from there – is based around Providence, Rhode Island. Their new album Arrival is a great showing of what to expect, highlighted by “Can You Use This”, whose verses show a funky swagger and whose soaring hook resembles a grandiose Bond theme in its melodic allure and brass-laden charm. It’s a powerful, accomplished track from this talented act.
