Canadian act Cascade Falls specialize in “languid, retro-shoegaze for pensive times”, as evidenced on the soaring track “You’re the Last One”. Airy vocals complement a dark bass line, rumbling along with a nostalgic synth pad in the distance. The track really shows off its melodic charm during an excellently done chorus, where a whirring synth arpeggio and uplifted vocals make for an enticing melodic transition, particularly during the “though my feelings are gone / still I long” bit. Parts romantic chillwave and hypnotic shoegaze, this is a well-done, captivating effort from Cascade Falls.
