Nashville duo biyo wrote and recorded their new single “moments” at night on a miniature upright piano, making for an engaging and bouncy listen whose initial aesthetic reminds fondly of Junior Boys. With similarly captivating synth tones and rhythm growth, it’s hard not to see the favorable comparison. The chorus itself, more expansive in the pop realm, departs from this a bit — veering toward a more typical anthemic push, with increasing swelling on behalf of the synths. It’s an infectious hook within a series of contagious verses, making for a successful effort that remains catchy throughout.
