Swedish indie-pop band Birds on Clouds specialize in a dreamy, scenic sound that’s often bleak, though on new track “Dog Song” they detail the story of a fluffy dog. Halted rhythms, bursts of strings, dancing piano, and a very narrative-driven lyrical performance – reminiscent a bit of countryman Jens Lekman – help guide this stellar effort, with a very passionate “I stole the day” hook. The track comes via the band’s debut EP, out now on Spotify and all major platforms. This seven-piece out of Malmö shows some serious songwriting chops here.
