Hartford, Connecticut-based rockers Audio Jane impressed last year with the track “White Lies“, where atmospheric songwriting and breathy vocals produced a shimmering ’90s alt-rock sound led by swaying twangy guitars and paced percussion. On new track “Atmosphere”, lead vocalist Sarah Pech once again assumes her laid-back vocal presence and lets the nostalgic hookiness and evident musicianship shine — much in the vein of Metric’s Emily Haines. Off their upcoming album Naive, out April 4th (the group will be touring New England and New York throughout 2017 in support of it), “Atmosphere” is another success. “I feel no pain,” she affirms leading into the hook at 02:07, a wonderfully melodic burst of guitar — wearing ’90s alt-rock nostalgic nonchalance on her sleeve, in a form typical of this talented group’s effortless-sounding captivation.
