“Less Myself” is a haunting stunner from Sister Socrates, a four-piece out of Melbourne. A ghostly backing croon permeates throughout the track’s majority, with bustling acoustics and a crawling bass line help setting a gripping atmosphere. The lead vocals are caressing, with the hypnotic song structure in mind as guitar tonal shifts comprise most of the melodic movement until 02:45, when a fantastic melodic shift occurs for a conclusive hook — the jangled guitars past the three-minute mark breathing final life into this stellar release.
