Seattle-based group Echo Texture have a very apt name — as their sound adds textural depths to a vein of alternative-rock that values trickling post-punk verses and emotive blasts of emotion in the chorus, at least on their track “Rayon”, off their new album Inter-Sting. The vocals shift seamlessly between more subdued emotion during the verses, to a soaring showing of energy during a chorus uplifted by heavy distortion and enhanced rhythm. Singer/songwriter Jalal Andre shows additional depth around 02:40, when the track’s bridge emerges as a very formidable structural tool to show off the infectious chorus once more. The group has crafted an enjoyable form of alternative that shines throughout Inter-Sting, available for streaming in full below:
