BONOMO is an alt-folk duo out of Brooklyn, whose trickling and brilliant new single “Water” conveys its namesake well; bustling bass-y rhythms and gliding acoustics resemble a fast-moving stream. The songwriting is courtesy of Adam Bonomo, whose soaring vocals and lush, jazz-laden instrumentation makes for a riveting and consuming sound. Guitarist Andrew Renfroe is the other half of the duo, lending his atmospheric prowess here as well. The project formed in 2015 and made their debut performance in Lincoln Center, in addition to taking first place at the CASC songwriting competition. Suffice to say, the project continues to rise. It comes via their new album Phases, which was released on the 19th.
