It’s raining where I am, so Zeila’s smooth-riding new track “It Never Goes Away” is hitting the spot particularly well, though it’s also the sort of effort that would shine on a summer day. Roaring vocal enthusiasm, stellar guitar work, and engrossing melodic development with touches of blues and jazz are the focal points of “It Never Goes Away”, which does well in showcasing the high-level musicianship and easy-flowing songwriting abilities of this group out of Gothenburg, Sweden. Back to the rainy-day aptness, it’s hard not to enjoy when the lively instrumentation scales back around the four-minute mark, giving way to a sensual guitar solo and well-fitted vocal whimper. It’s one of many great songwriting choices throughout this highly impressive track.
