Tony Bullets – the consuming jangle-pop project of Johnson City, New York-based Evan Hughey – shows suave melodic appeal on new track “Homesick”. Formerly an electronic-focused musician, Hughey has been hard at work on his first “fully vocal EP”, with “Homesick” being a single from the upcoming EP of the same name. “Homesick, one thing I told myself I would never be, and then you caged me,” he croons, followed by a heavy jangle of guitars before descending into a brief melodic interlude of clunky guitars and withdrawn vocals, before reverting back to the fairly chipper core hook. The track shows an enjoyable vein of jangle-pop that should certainly appeal to fans of Mac DeMarco and the like.
