One Track Minds – “A Price to Be Paid”

Nordic psych-rockers One Track Minds just released their debut full-length studio album earlier this month, with the release being led off by the hazily engrossing track “A Price to Be Paid”. Jon Reier Sylte’s weary vocals play well alongside the melodic and even-paced guitar work, the guitar bridge at points like 01:43 reminding fondly of Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold the World”. The guitar solo just past the two-minute mark reminds fondly of The War on Drugs’ psych-rock interpretation, with this particular effort touting an enjoyably stoned atmosphere that shows melodic charm in the midst of psych-friendly nonchalance.
