Human Sadness is the project of Australian singer/songwriter Kyle Burrows, who on new track “Waste Away” shows impressive atmospheric power with his soaring grunge-tinged vocals and solemn guitar work. The track’s second half is where the brilliance shines particularly, as sporadic glistening helps infuse a trippy, psychedelic feel into the hypnotic guitar-and-vocal arsenal. It’s a small and occasional touch, though one that adds quite a bit to the track’s commendable melodic development. “This track is inspired by music from Radiohead, Bon Iver, and Chet Faker; just to name a few,” Burrows explains. A DIY project, Human Sadness is quite impressive so far.
