Off a new full-length from German blues rockers The Blue Poets, “With Your Eyes” is a consuming effort from start to finish, with the absence of percussion until the thunderous hook at 03:30 proving no detriment to getting the flow going. The vocal performance is developmentally enjoyable, starting relatively muted and growing in intensity as the track progresses. The guitars mimic this strategy, starting warm and mellow before showing some anthemic exultation just prior to the percussive introduction. From here, the guitars do the talking — the extended two-minute guitar showcase at the end being impressively engaging. Another track of theirs below, “Goodbye”, touts a more standard alternative-rock approach structurally but is similarly enjoyable from a melodic sense:
