“High & Low” is a slab of fuzzy garage-rock brilliance, where suave vocals, a twangy guitar lead, fuzzy rhythmic backing and a swirling organ accompaniment churn out infectious bliss. The creators are an unsigned band from London called Sleeping Orchard, formed in November 2013 and having released 5 records to date – with more on the way. “We are influenced by almost every artist imaginable in some way, shape or form, from Charli XCX to Bob Dylan,” they say. “High & Low” is part pieces Brit-pop, psych-rock, and garage — something in a similar realm to Supergrass’ more rockin’ tracks, like “Richard III“. Comparisons aside, Sleeping Orchard show heaps of potential.
