Australian act Nick de la Hoyde crafts an entrancing vein of electro-pop that values accessibility but also riveting soundscapes. His recent track “Never Gonna Beg For It“, with over 100k YouTube views, has been rising quickly, so it’s not a huge surprise that there was ample remix interest. That resulted in the a release for the track’s remixes specifically, including mixes from acts like RIDDLER, Zuzu, SERAFIN, and UK-based project Kids On Bridges. Kids On Bridges have my favorite remix of the bunch, beginning with barren vocal manipulation and veering into infectiously buzzy territory when things get going just before the one-minute mark. It’s a great take on the track that, production-wise, reminds of The xx with more pop-centric vocals.
