Cool Company, the writer/producer duo of vocalist Yannick Hughes (aka Cool Yan) and producer Matt Fishman (aka Fat Matt), showcases developmental strength on new track “Summer Daze”, which starks with a stark guitar line and gentle vocals. A warm bass kicks in around the one-minute mark, leading into a fantastic hook, where Hughes sings “now I’m howling at the moon and it’s all because of–” and then is cut off for a melodic vocal of a longing “yoooouuuuu” over the trickling guitar line and warm bass. A short but effective burst of hip-hop follows before the track retreats into its peaceful slumber. As for the duo, 2016 should “see new singles and a full-length project from Cool Company.”
