Alexandra is an alt-rock artist from Australia who infuses both pop immediacy and full-throttle intensity in her sound, which is shown well on “Criminal” – where her furious, fast-paced delivery is nicely contrasted by hard-rocking guitars, climactic percussion, and a generally powerful sound that shows a grittiness amidst the well-polished rock precision. Working with American award-winning producer Keith Olsen, Alexandra was able to evolve her home demos of “Criminal” into one full of energy, possessing an energy similar to Paramore’s Hayley Williams while also showing a nod to some of Alexandra’s favorite ’90s influences, like Nirvana, which certainly show up in the grunge-oriented guitar tones. Overall, an exciting showing from this new artist.
