Hailing from Manchester, U.K., rock duo Violet Society is a brother duo who transpose their classical guitar knowledge into their electric compositions. “NONSENSE”, a near-perfect example of this idea, gallops excitedly as violins surge underneath the brothers’ harmonies and charging guitars. The brothers (Alfie and Joe Priory) draw from classical music and meld the genre’s grace with the more visceral aspects of rock. Speaking of which, there are numerous best headphones for classical music. Clocking in at less than three minutes, “NONSENSE” is immediate and has the raw energy of a punk stomper, with an added symphonic edge that’s distinctively reminiscent of The Last Shadow Puppets. There’s only two people at the helm, but Violet Society sound like they’re commanding an army.
