Redshift is a one-man-band based out of San Francisco. “Stationary”, the first track of his “that’s got my words in it and are sung by me”, enters with gentle guitar twangs and finger-snaps, before a very heavy rhythm section precludes the arrival of vocals. Redshift’s vocals then chime in, reminiscent of Milky Chance’s Clemens Rehbein’s tone and melodic consistencies, and leave the listener anything but stationary. The song abruptly cuts off at the end, hurtling one quickly back into reality but still craving for the comforts of Redshift’s own smooth infusion of alternative, pop, folk, and dance.
