Columbia Records chairman Rob Stringer announced Friday night that LCD Soundsystem had signed to the label. Stringer made the announcement during an interview at Billboard‘s Power 100 Celebration.
With festival appearances, a new tour announced and an album on the way, 2016 is poised to be a big year for the newly reunited Soundsystem. The group took a hiatus in 2011, after a supposedly final show in Madison Square Garden. However, Murphy mentioned last month about new-found inspiration cultivated from his hiatus, and released a new track in “Christmas Will Break Your Heart” shortly thereafter.
