Slim Loris is a Swedish rock quartet that possesses a very accessible sound, often led by spright keys and guitars flowing melodically alongside Mattias Cederstam’s sonorous vocals, which remind of groups like Ozma and Weezer in both their melodic draw and overall tone. The group certainly represent the Swedish musical stereotype of hook-filled abundance quite well, especially on “Down”, the lead single off their new album Love and Fear. “Down where we are,” Cederstam begins the rollicking chorus, full of anthemic fervor as the backing choral vocals and expansive reprise in the final minute provide a pleasant refresher of the preceding hooks.
