Red Cabin is the pop/rock/experimental solo project from Jonathan Foster, whose new album Right This Way is a collection of nonstop infectiousness and original pop songwriting. With playful guitars, loopy synths, and melodic vocals, his approach is fondly reminiscent of underrated power-pop group Ozma. It doesn’t take long for the album to get started; the opening self-titled track provides an immediate burst of contagious songwriting. Actually, most tracks on Right This Way are quick to get started, making full use of their three-minute runtimes. On “Right This Way”, Foster’s vocals appear one second into the track, alongside a bouncy synth, sporadic organs, and fluttering acoustics. It’s a tidy success that takes one or two plays to get stuck in your head. If anything, the charm and hook-laden sensibilities of Right This Way makes the whole album ripe for clinging to your audible memory. Stream the album in full below and grab it on Bandcamp:

Very catchy! “Let It Come” is pretty good too!
Gotta love this kind of programming – almost sounds like a folk-alt-rock version of some 1989 Nintendo game 🙂
Catchy tune. Tempted to describe as an electronic spin on Field Music.
