Fou – “High”

It’s nice to hear some new material from Fort Werth-based dream-pop group Fou, who impressed two years ago with their track “Don’t You Know?” Now with several re-recordings and new tracks, Fou has released their debut full-length, Boy. In addition to the previously featured “Don’t You Know?”, my favorite cut from the album is “High”, a smooth-riding slice of graceful shoegaze-y rock. Gentle guitar twangs resonate over simple musings of the world around – like two birds flying simply “for the love of the moon, for the love of the sky.” Carefree enjoyment of life certainly seems to be a theme here, whether it means kicking back and relaxing or soaring to the highest clouds. An amiably contagious chorus caps off this successful effort, which is just one of several gems off Boy, which you can stream in full below or purchase on Bandcamp for $5:
