“Yell It Out!” is more goodness from sample-friendly maestro The Derevolutions, who wowed with his Living in the Not World EP last month. Contrary to those efforts, “Yell It Out!” lacks his usual perky vocal presence, but turns up the sampling fun as a result. The result is a hugely tropical sensation that samples a variety of sounds, from cheerleader instructional videos to obscure doo-wop group The Emanons covering “Blue Moon”. Spurting brass, playful chants, and vocal acrobatics help guide a track that compares to Avalanches’ stabs at tropicália, especially in its downright infectious demeanor.
