Budo has been making waves as a producer since he was signed to Rhymesayers in 2008. He has worked with Macklemore, Grieves, and Atmosphere, to name a few. In 2012 Budo began the writing and recording of his sophomore LP, The Finger and The Moon. “Circles” is the first single off that album. Slow and melodic, Budo wonders aloud, “Is that all it took to push you away? I’m freakin’ out.” This lamenting ballad does everything right, with subtle strings, powerful lyrics, soulful horns, wandering piano, and strong drums. He may be “freakin’ out,” but I’m getting pulled in.
