MP3: Lotus Plaza – “Strangers”

MP3: Lotus Plaza – Strangers

Deerhunter’s Lockett Pundt revealed a track on Spooky Action at a Distance, his second album under the Lotus Plaza name. Out 4/2 on Kranky, the album includes the excellent “Strangers”,  a hazy mix of folk and psych-rock that finds angular guitar lines dribbling and changing tempos — similar to a track like Real Estate’s “All the Same”. And there’s still that lovable Felt influence. If you don’t know what I’m talking about then download Forever Breathes the Lonely Word ASAP.

Pundt also released a 10? split single for “Come Back” on February 14th, with the other track coming from Pundt’s fiancée Shayda Yavari, representing her Nice Weekend project. It was limited to 500 copies, but you can check out a stream here.
