thanks Yohanes. I’ve found a bunch of other noteworthy Ariel stuff since this article was published over two years ago, and that includes some of what you mentioned. I’m sure he warrants another feature in the near future… an introduction of Ariel Pink sounds like a potential two-parter 🙂

Great introduction. Sorting out Pink’s discography isn’t so easy as there is more unreleased material than what got published, and out of what was published some albums are out of print or only available on mp3 or not available at all.

Either way Grandes Exitos does have a nice selection but where is “Artifact” from Worn Copy? Along with “Trepanated Earth” (and “Credit”) that song makes Worn Copy his best album.

Well worth the read, though always considered ‘Interesting Results’ to be more akin to a Postcard Records release circa 1980 (Josef K / Orange Juice), and ‘Envelopes Another Day’ to have something of the grandiose Spandau Ballet vocals to it.
‘Alisa’ and ‘Helen’ are worthy of many an accolade; yet, rather than condemn Ariel to obscurity with all this praise, let’s permit him to remain on the periphery of popularity – he doesn’t serve such treatment.

First of all, excellent music blog. Thanks for this comprehensive writeup on a totally under-covered recording artist. We are big fans of the 70’s recorded sound and Ariel Pink brings some of that back. Just loved listening to the streams you have up here. Cheers.
