Max Norton – “Nothing In This World”

/

London-based artist Max Norton engages with an emotive rock sound on “Nothing In This World,” emitting an adoration for the power of love and its life-changing qualities. The multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer excels with a stirring sound on this track and across his debut EP, Each One Is A Movie. “Someone mentioned the world needed a love song, so I wrote this one and it was also the last song I recorded for my EP,” Norton explains.

“All my life, I’ve been searching for you,” a weary vocal presence consumes, amidst jangling guitar reflections. The vocals rise in emotion alongside an added, peppy guitar line that drives into a cathartic “back to you,” bridge. The ensuing “nothing in this world,” refrain proves replay-inducing in its emotive vocals and layered guitar-led intensity. There’s a celebratory tone in the “day I found you,” exultation — reveling in there only being one now, rendering the universe now unable “to turn blue, now that the stars come from you.” The result is a smitten rock success from Norton.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
