iHop Borders – “Waning Crescent”

/

A magnetic, nocturnal intrigue showcases on “Waning Crescent,” a chilled-out instrumental track from Green Bay-based artist iHop Borders. A steady bass drives alongside glimmering synth tones, prancing with an illuminated engrossment. A fantastic shift takes hold past the two-minute turn, as a bouncier synth clanging emerges with effervescent allure into a “thank you very much,” vocal sample send-off.

The production expands with cohesive entrancement, from quaint keys flickering into a bass-y insertion, reminiscent tonally of Canadian pop band The Russian Futurists. The playful, layered additions thereafter meld together with a twinkling charm; the mid-point synth line exudes a sort of video-game nostalgia. “Waning Crescent” is a serenely melodic success from iHop Borders, boasting a soundscape fit for contemplation. We’re excited to hear what’s next from the project.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Rainy Days and Late Night Drives’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
