Zach McKenzie – “The Day That I Found You”

A recent single from Zach McKenzie, “The Day That I Found You” blends soulful vocal reflections within a rousing rock production, complete with shining organs, expressive brass, and smooth guitar work. A gospel-inspired backing vocal choir provides a responsive allure in the central hook, especially. McKenzie captivates further into the subsequent verses, gushing “you’re the best thing that ever happened to me,” while expressing a deep admiration for “the day that I found you.”

A native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the singer/songwriter crafts a heartfelt song that vividly depicts an especially fateful day. The rollicking rock success is accompanied by a music video, above, and continues an ascent of success for McKenzie, who won Arkansas Idol in 2012. Since then, McKenzie has performed at a variety of venues in Nashville and throughout Arkansas. “The Day That I Found You” is a quality showcase of his strong songwriting.
