“Thrall” is a gorgeous new track from Magnetic Ghost, who infuse a number of genres – psych-pop, shoegaze, freak-folk, Kraut-rock and others – into their consuming stylistic arsenal. Drawing partly from the “beauty and isolation of open spaces,” “Thrall” grows alongside soaring vocals and subtly developing layers of instrumentation. Magnetic Ghost, primarily the outlet of multi-instrumentalist Andrew Larson, continues to churn out tracks that value both atmosphere and melodic development, impressing previously with “Grand Canyon“, “Echo Chamber” and now with the enchanting “Thrall”.
