Crafted “out of the ashes of recent heartache and despair”, “Fake It” is a gripping new track from Los Angeles project Mangled Jangles. Beginning with a burst of twanging guitars and buzzing synth spurts, alongside a Beck-like vocal suaveness, the track’s tightly constructed mode of production is immediately striking. “Fake it, you’re gonna fake it,” he sings during the catchy hook, with charismatic guitar-pop lines leading around the two-minute mark. Mangled Jangles craft very capable pop with fondness for both guitar-led and synth-laden melodies, all succeeding on the tightly successful “Fake It”.
