Gentle guitars and steadily developing strings complement the tranquil vocals of Matt Townsend to kick off the engaging “Came Down From the Mountain”, a highlight off the North Carolina folk artist’s new EP, The Drifter and the Dream (Part 1). Gravitating away from the solo acoustical sound of his past material, Townsend takes a step forward here with the symphonic flourish and expanded production, allowing his evident talents to flow better than ever.
