We’re happy to premiere to Born Again Virgins’ haunting, beautifully developed track “No Alibi”. The Austin, Texas-based act will release their first EP on May 19th, and from this track it’s easy to see why the band has been growing in recognition in the Austin scene throughout the past three years. Things begin patiently, with a chilly piano line greeted by the stirring of strings around the one-minute mark. This symphonic touch works wonderfully with the weary, worn vocals. Atmosphere is heavy, taking a moment of pause around two-minutes for an ensuing series of vocal whispers and symphonic murmurs. The final two minutes of the track is ripe with interesting piano/orchestral/guitar interplaying, the vocals re-engaging in the final 01:30 for a captivating finale. It’s a fine piece of songwriting and atmospheric development from Born Again Virgins.
