“TV Screens & Videos” is a fresh track off Lily Virginia’s forthcoming audio/visual album Play Me Twice, where the Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter has released one music video at a time alongside a podcast that answers fan questions regarding each video’s production process. The full album is due out this fall, serving as “an ode to the poetry of life; a landscape of confessional lyrics and shimmering sounds.” It’s a follow-up to her 2014 debut EP. “TV Screens & Videos” rides on a suave guitar line and commanding vocal presence, with a slight twangy rockabilly sound aligning with an anthemic vocal chorus reminiscent of Florence + the Machine and Sharon Van Etten. The mid-section brass provides for a nicely infectious moment as well. It’s an enjoyable track through and through.
