“Change Your Heart (I Need to Change)” is a wonderfully melodic slice of bedroom-pop that has hints of Brian Wilson’s Smile in its charismatic psych-laden approach. Though the template is bare, the call-and-response vocal melody and hypnotic keys – twinkling and grounded – simply work, to the point of remaining entrenched in listeners’ minds. Aqueduct also comes to comparative mind, with the playful synth-laden rock approach and pop hook tendencies. I’m excited to hear more from Shuffle the Buffalo.
