“Super” is the first single off Ocean Floor’s upcoming EP, “recorded completely DIY in a cramped bedroom with borrowed equipment.” Certainly proud of its lo-fi aesthetic, and rightly so, the track rides on swift guitar lines and a semi-hushed vocal approach with alternation reminiscent of The Wrens. The various guitar tones and quick-noted melodic development is very impressive for a new project regardless of lo-fi approach, which for this sound in particular works very well and doesn’t detract in the slightest. I’m digging this project and looking forward to the rest of the EP.
