The jangly rock from The Genius Buddha Band rides on summer-y nonchalance throughout their fleeting new single “I Don’t Mind”. The Swedish group say that the track was written and recorded in one day, which is bizarre – as the band sounds impressively tight, from the gleeful verses to the joyous final 45 seconds, which features a brilliant rockabilly-esque bridge leading back into the familiarly comfortable chorus. The guitar distortion adds an edge to the band’s poppier tendencies, reminding us that they are indeed a rock band despite the float-y and breezy hooks.
