The Slang – “Feels Like Work”

the-slang

Columbus, Ohio, rock group The Slang is the type of group you may have heard before without knowing it; their songs have been used by an assortment of TV outlets like HBO and USA, in addition to profile-rising appearances at NXNE and CMJ. Now, The Slang are preparing to release their debut self-titled EP on September 2nd. Mixed by Mark Needham (Imagine Dragons, Tokyo Police Club) and mastered by Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys), the album is preceded by the anthemic single “Feels Like Work”. Similar to the groups Needham and Lucey have worked with prior, The Slang’s sound has an instantly infectious radio-friendly appeal; it’s not reluctant to use soaring wordless choruses or Coldplay-like guitar resonance, either. With a sound that has been compared to The Killers, Snow Patrol, and The Midway State, it won’t be surprising if The Slang becomes one of the more buzzed-about indie-rock groups on the popular radio circuit later this year.
