We all need something to lull us into a nice, fall weekend. Flamginosis’ lush “I Like It” does just that, with gentle Latin folk acoustics and a serene, slightly vocoded “Ooh, I like it,” vocal sample gliding across the astral plane. I posted a bunch of Flamingosis tracks last year, and the young producer – Aaron Velasquez – continues to make steps in diversifying his sound. His adoration for everything from soul to hip-hop already suggested that he would have no difficult expanding his arsenal, and “I Like It” and the brand new, funk/hip-hop hybrid “Trippin'” show just that. His most impressive stylistic hybrid yet may be the suave “Those Eyes”, a dizzying mixture of tranquil organs, orgasmic hushed vocals, and whirring percussion. Be sure to check out his treasure trove of Soundcloud and Bandcamp content, too. Flamingosis gets thousands of plays the day he releases a track for a reason.
