Within the first seconds of Hands’ single “I Want to Know”, I knew I had stumbled across something special. This single comes from an untitled 7″ released in January, and immediately draws well-deserved comparisons to Young the Giant and Vampire Weekend. The spunky island sound of the lead guitar combined with the incredibly soothing vocals make “I Want To Know” a perfect track for summer. The hook is catchy, and the guitar riff that accompanies it is refreshingly interesting. Hands is poised to blow up in 2013 as they’ve already played alongside Foster the People, Wavves, and Kimbra. Their debut album, Synthesia, was released on April 30th. Keep an eye out for Hands to announce a tour this year.
