Dr. Dog revealed details about their upcoming album, Be the Void, two weeks ago. Now they’re unveiling a track from the anticipated release, which allegedly touts “a far leaner and meaner primal sound” than its predecessors. “That Old Black Hole” isn’t quite indicative of that, instead sounding like the glowing organ-led pop of We All Belong. Hey, no complaints there. Apart from the interesting southern-like shuffle at the track’s conclusion, “That Old Black Hole” is simply a continuation of what the Philly-based rockers do best: craft vintage rock songs loaded with hooks.
The follow-up to 2010’s Shame Shame, Be the Void will be released February 7th. More details here.
